Airport 2.0... muh

No sooner did I update my Airport card and (rev 1) base station with version 2.0 than I lost all airport functionality. Well, not all... just the functionality that counts :) :

-base station DHCP client is getting an IP address from the cable modem, (but no router IP or DNSes)

-InternetConnect seems to think that the base station is "connected to the internet via ethernet"

-Network Control panel indicates that my Pismo has the correct IP address

Everything looks great, except nothing works... can't even ping!

:(

Before I skip my base station across the pond, does anyone have any suggestions?

IIRC the airport Base station does not update. When your card was updated to 128 bit encryption it broke your connection as the base was still 40 bit. So the card is fine, the base is fine, they just don't wanna play together anymore. This can be solved by falshing the card back (don't think Apple has provided that one though) getting a new base, getting a new card, or using a software base station. I may be wrong, but I do not think so. Least expensive and likely is the Flash back, followed by a new card with the old encryption. Or maybe a call to Apple?

Thanks for the reply. Since I posted my question, I tried bringing my Airport base station to work, and it worked just fine, so I'm fairly sure that my card and base station are playing nicely together! :)

It looks like the DHCP client firmware was updated in the base station, and it no longer negotiates with my ISPs DHCP server. I acquired an IP address, but no router or DNS addresses. When I get home, I am going to connect my computer directly to the modem, jot down the router and DNS IP addresses and enter those manually in the base station.

I haven't heard of anyone else with this problem, so I suppose I'm just the unlucky one! :)
