Does anyone know how to transfer QT files to iMovie? I DO NOT have QT Pro, and I don't want to spend any money for it, unless I really have to. If any one has the Pro or app, could they please mail it to me @ Willk121@ignmai.com? or if you have an alternative to QT Pro PLEASE tell me!
Thanks! <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

you DO need QT Pro. You must save the .mov file into the DV Stream format. Is a Save As... function that regular QT does not have.

Hope this helps.

If you really need that function and would use it a lot what's wrong with paying for Quicktime Pro? It's not a lot for what you get.

Thanks for the help, but MY PARENTS WON'T LET ME GET QT PRO!!! THEY SAY IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY. I edit video for my school, and they're too cheap to buy it as well.... <img src="graemlins/embarrassed.gif" border="0" alt="[Embarrassed]" />

$29.99 (they didn't even charge me tax) is the best price you'll find for anything to do with video editing aside from iMovie's $0 price tag. So this thread to your folks. I'm sure we can all vouch for the great value of QuickTime Pro.

I think that your folks should see the 29 bucks as a very small investment with limitless returns, someone had to buy Spielbergs' Super8 film for him . Hope you can convince them.
