For use in the Restore the background to its original look thread...

I prefer Quicksilver.

Definitely QuickSilver! Why? Because I own one.
Graphite looks pretty bad compared to Quicksilver.

One side comment... is anyone annoyed that there is no 'underline' option for text? I always have to use the line tool... and if the font I am using doesn't provide an Italic variation.. then Photoshop doesn't show it.. unlike almost every other word processor. Are these features there and I am just not looking hard enough?

graphite
but your quicksilver sample looks different then the real appearance, it's very whitish
applenut, now that I see both next to each other (well apporximately what they each are) how can you actually like the Graphite better? I still don't get it.

graphite is more conservative and easier on my eyes to read

looks different, and so does the front page IMO. are there differences in some pages?

Looks the same to me. If images are displays in a different color than the html your gamma is off.

I think I see the difference, the text field that the messages are in is slightly lighter than the outside "background". Do you see the same thing?

If you check the colors in Photoshop... they are the correct ones... the problem is most likely that the colors near it are changing the way the other picture looks... I dunno how to explain it.. but I assume this is like when an image gets burned in your eye... or something. Your eyes are fooling you... maybe <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

finally, someone sees it. now if they would make the color of the text field the same as the "background" color I think I wouldn't have a problem.

This new look is slick. Can't wait to see the main page with some fresh news, and the redesigned software/hardware sections.

There is no underline feature in photoshop because there doesn't need to be one. Fake underlines and italics and bolds in programs like Word, and Quark are there for people that just HAVE to use them. If using Quark... any serious Graphic Artist will tell you they wished those features were removed. Forced Bold and Italic looks like absolute crud on press. If you want a REAL bold, use one... they exist for any professional font. 90% of all my fonts have condensed, extended, italic, bold, condensed italics, etc...
As for the Underlines... if you're setting type in Photoshop, you just gotta do it manually.
