How do you make animated gifs?

Can someone explain to me how to make animated gifs? What apps do I need? (I have a lot of pro apps on my comp from my bro - PS, Illustator, Macromedia Suite, etc).

ImageReady is very good...stone studio has a nice easy anigif maker

print regular gifs on the corners of several pages and flipbook them :p

edit: all of the above tools will work, gifbuilder has helpful readme docs
