And he wondered....Will we ever see the day when an OS-X OS for Pcees ever hits the market place ?

I know this is an old topic, but given that IBM is now supplying chips to both systems, shouldn,'t Apple be thinking of offering the Pcee Wurld something akin to OS-X that knocks the pips of M$soft's Windows ?

The technical barriers are now virtually non existant..or at least that's what I understand.

If you mean Mac OS on x86, there are, in fact, major barriers. Cocoa being portable is a tip of the iceberg.
To support 2 code bases for the OS Apple has to sacrify a great deal of resources.
To make developers maintain and support 2 platforms is nearly impossible. At the very least I will have to buy a PC to test my apps, if I want them to work reliably both on PPC and x86. I don't want to.
To convince a PC user to buy Mac OS is hardly possible. You should have a number of Mac OS-only apps, compiled for x86, which the user can't live without.
To wake up that ugly monster Microsoft by direct threats to its monopoly is plain dangerous.
To lose a significant percentage of hardware sales is the end for Apple.
At last, a stupid question: what do you want Mac OS on x86 for?
