What is the most recent (stable) release of the Linux kernel? I am studying a Linux+ book, which may be out-dated, so I want to verify the kernel versions it refers to.

Admins: Please change the title for me, I meant to type "Linux" (duh)!

However, 2.6 is almost here, and it's quite different in some respects.
