I didn't like Shrek, but I think this is hilarious. Applenut, are you the type of person who can't laugh at yourself?
I LOVED Finding Nemo. I think it was the best of the Pixar films so far. That doesn't mean I can't enjoy making fun of it.

It IS funny applenut ! ... I doubt the image was made to be shown to 4 year olds as they exit the theatre ... in that context it wouldn't be funny.
I liked Shrek ... so do my kids, though they didn't get a lot of the jokes .... they also liked Nemo though I haven't seen it ....
but the Sushi looks good !!!

Au contrare, that is precisely the context in which it would be funniest. Perhaps as an Easter Egg on the DVD?

Jeez. At least I realize I'm an ass sometimes. In fact, you'll find many instances where I've apologized to people on these boards for my tone. I don't quite understand this personal attack. I've never offended you, as far as I know.

Tangentially, I had scenes from "A Fish called Wanda" running through my head last night.

How can you not like Shrek? Is it because it's not from Pixar??:???:
I thought Finding Nemo would be good, but Pixar keeps making movies better then the last, and always surpassing my expectations. They great thing is they actually make them, the plot and everything. I wonder how the next one will surpass Finding Nemo!

I think it was Eddie Murphy that really ruined it in the end (i didn't like Aladdin for a similar reason), but there were a few too many "ugggh" jokes (you know, the ones that make you say "ugggh" when you hear them) and it certainly wasn't a kids' movie. Are cute animation and funny voices enough to make an acclaimed movie for kids these days, regardless of the content?
The jokes were unintelligent and predictable. The plot was dumb. It certainly wasn't better than Monsters, Inc. and had it not won the Oscar I probably wouldn't have had so much against it.
I like the Pixar movies not because they're Pixar. I like them because they're good movies. I didn't like Shrek not because it wasn't Pixar (wow -- triple-negative used correctly), but simply because it wasn't that great of a movie.

I had too much time on my hands, so I was browsing through my VHS collection (which is pathetic) and Caper was amongst them. So I popped it in and watched it a new, and I must say that the word “bitch” is used repeatedly thought the movie. No wonder I grew up to be such a bastard.
And what’s with the penis tower on the cover of Little mermaid?

iDunno Tonton, I think Shrek made a decent enough anti-fairytale for the kiddies. It seemed to have its moral sense screwed on straighter than something like those Rankin/Bass "Animagic" Christmas specials, and those are considered TV classics. I'll probably let my kids watch them, but only so that they can tell all the other kids how Santa is an a$$hole. Well, just before they tell all the other kids that Santa is a fabrication. Great fun! (and yes, I'm 100% serious)
