I just popped in a ATI 8500 in my dual 867 G4 replacing the GForce4MX.

Whats the best way to see if it was worth it?
Also, is there an update for OS 10.2.8?

thanks

Quake 3 is the best way to do benchmarking.

I replaced my ge4mx with a radeon 9000 and the difference was very noticeable upon installation, all round a better opengl/quartz experience.
