Luckily no one was injured (well, not by the bomb, but probably by the food at the restaurant) and they were caught. Should they be executed?

These terrorists are white, in the US military, probably good Protestants, and likely to be supporters of Bush. They will probably get courtmartialed, and a suspended jail sentence.

Imagine if these guys were MUSLIMS and pulled a stunt like that! They would be rotting in Gitmo Bay by tomorrow morning, with a bunch of hapless Afghan goatherders for company, in no mans' land, denied access to lawyers, family, friends, assumed guilty and not permitted a trial by a jury of their peers.

They may be good examples of (American) Protestants, but they're definitely not good Protestants.

So wait, we no longer want to execute terrorists?

I was wondering what separates an act of terrorism from other crimes. Is there an official definition in USofA law ?

The only links I get for Johnny Walker are for Scotch whisky.

From the WordNet 2.0 database (http://www.cogsci.princeton.edu/cgi-bin/webwn?stage=1&word=terrorism):

1. terrorism, act of terrorism, terrorist act -- (the calculated use of violence (or threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimindation or coercion or instilling fear)

Hmmm.... instilling fear.... reminds me a little of the strategies used by a government of a big north american country... :wow:

-Neř Of course, if guys with Muslim-sounding last names had done it, you'd be using it to justify the occupation of Iraq.

Damn, I hate to see young people out and about and *proud* of not using their brain....
