I thought this (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6117542/) was interesting. Jon Stewart appeared on The O'Reilly Factor a while ago and O'Reilly stated his opinion on the viewership of The Daily Show:
You know what’s really frightening? You actually have an influence on this presidential election. That is scary, but it’s true. You’ve got stoned slackers watching your dopey show every night and they can vote.
So Comedy Central did a little research, and found that those in the demographic catered to by the Daily Show, stoned slackers though they may be, are better educated than the average O'Reilly fan and are better informed when it comes to questions regarding current affairs.

While I may be stoned while watching The Daily Show, I'm certainly no slacker. I take great offense on behalf of all the responsible "stoners" in America.

Had they researched a bit farther, they might have confirmed that the average house plant in front of the teevee was better educated than the average O'Reilly fan and better informed when it comes to questions regarding current affairs.

Even so, how does being a stoned slacker affect your right to vote?
Is O'Reilly suggesting only certain types of people should have such a right?

Are you guys surprised about that? You only have to look at the Bush Fanatics™ on this forum for proof. :D
Why do you think there are some many neoconish shows on radio and tv these days? Because there's a lot of listeners who need constant reinforcement because they can't or refuse to look at issues from different angles.
They need to be constantly reminded how and what to think. Keep things simple. We're good, Liberals are bad. We're patriotic, Liberals aren't.

As someone who never uses drugs, but who slacks off a lot, I must also protest these gross and unfair generalizations. :D

I saw that segment and the whole thing was said in jest. They were both laughing.

I know. People should watch the show because information is presented--from the moths of babes in many cases ie the speakers themselves--in a humorous manner but with a strong backbone of truth.
