Understands why and how we can discuss politics, that is:

http://beanmess.blogspot.com/

By actually discussing and listening to someone who had very different political and social views, he arrived at nine important opinions they had in common. I won't even attempt to get to the same point here right now, but it's an example for people to consider when they're starting these threads.

Most threads in here right now are caught up in pointing fingers at who is (more?) biased, or rather, who is biased against their point of view (the shame!) and isn't that fairly inane? It's like the issues don't matter, just that people want to count up who's on their side over and over again.

"My partisan group is bigger than your partisan group!"

"No fair!"

I mean, I suppose I'm being just as preachy when I know that there are people who are so eager to "win" and "argument" that they'll deny the sun and moon. I suppose I'm guilty of presupposing my audience too. Anyway, the original link shows a little leadership by example.

That says it all. We can't even agree on which links to use. :D
