One last chapter of the investigation by the Sept. 11 commission, a supplement completed more than two months ago, has not yet been made public by the Justice Department, and officials say it is unlikely to be released before the presidential election, even though that had been a major goal of deadlines set for the panel.

Drawing from this unpublished part of the inquiry, the commission quietly asked the inspectors general at the Departments of Defense and Transportation to review what it had determined were broadly inaccurate accounts provided by several civil and military officials about efforts to track and chase the hijacked aircraft on Sept. 11.

I guess that unless Kerry is elected we'll never know what really happened. How do republicans sleep at night?

Couple that with the pages regarding Saudi involvement that the Bush admin won't allow to be released and...

It is truly amazing. The worst attack ever on US soil, and the American government, and public just aren't interested in what really happened, or what went wrong (or in this case, what went so horribly right). An outlandish conspiracy theory of whacko proportions, full of impossibilities is presented, and 99.9% buy it without a question. The administration takes 411 days to agree to an inquiry which at best was pure fiction, and the "commander-in-chief", coward that he remains, doesn't dare face the (White House directed) "Commission" without his hand being held by the man in charge.

Perhaps this missing report will detail George Soros' investment in the Carlyle Group.

Do you think those of us that want it released would give a flying fuck if it did?

But Micheal Moore said that the Carlyle Group was a Bush playground -- connecting the Bushes to bin Laden. I know it has to be true because Micheal Moore's integrity as a filmaker is beyond question.

Partisan crap. If he broke the law, put Soros in jail for all I care. Can you explain a valid reason not to release this? Partisan crap isn't valid.

Other than revealing sources and methods of [then] existing threats, none.
