This election will decide if America chooses to be a socialist secular society in the model of Europe or if America holds on to its Christian roots and ethics and traditional values. We are at a major crossroad in our history. From lonestar times:
It's not about Bush or Kerry

By all accounts this election could see one of the highest voter turnouts in recent history. According to the polls, the race is too close to call. However, the experts and most of the media have missed the key to this election, it is not about the candidates; rather it is about what they stand for that is generating so much passion by the voters. This election is about the heart and soul of America and which direction this nation will take for the next 4 years and beyond.
There are many passionate Bush supporters, but the truth is many Americans don't care much for either candidate. Kerry, as a candidate, has little real support. Most of his voters are just voting because they are democrats or because they hate Bush. What this election is about is where these men stand on key foreign and domestic policy issues.
As Michael Moore said yesterday, Kerry is the most liberal member in the Senate. Kerry has campaigned for abortion rights, embryonic stem cell research, is soft on the gay marriage issue and has indicated we must pass a global test before taking any action against an enemy. The President has taken the opposite view on all of these issues.
This election will determine which direction this country will take on these issues for at least the next 4 years. The question is, will the so-called silent majority, considered to be traditional value Americans, finally turn out in huge numbers and take the country back towards its roots, or will the MTV generation, immigrants, (legal and illegal) minorities and white elite liberals left over the 60's, take this country on a road toward a more socialist government.
The election will speak volumns of where the soul of America is at we enter this new century. However, this election will only be step one in deciding what type of country this nation will be in another 10 to 20 years. Regardless of who wins, they will have to do a great job of running this country for the next four years or this country will be ready to make a sharp turn in the other direction in 2008.
If Kerry wins and falls on his face, like Jimmy Carter, this country will be ready to yank itself back to the right in 2008. If Kerry wins and does well, the country may be on the road to socialism. If Bush wins and fails in the next 4 years, then Hilary Clinton will become President in 2008 and conservatism will be dead for a long time. If Bush wins and does a great job, then liberalism will be dead.
Within the next 24 hours we will know who is going to be President. More importantly, we will know where the heart and soul of the Republic is at this point in history. It will tell us a lot about who we are as a nation and will serve as step one in determining the future of this nation for the next seveal decades.
