>sorry guys. I really wanted you to do well, but it cannot be. I cannot find the last post that specifically relates to the original question.

From this point on - do NOT start any more posts relating to Evolution and/or Creationism. There are plenty of other forums on the net to discuss these things.<

I personally have no interest in the debate, however I decided to read the thread only to see it locked by a moderator.
Why on earth would an intelligently discussed thread get locked?
What exactly is the purpose of this forum if not to discuss thoughts and ideas?
I find this very disturbing. Am I alone in feeling this way?

You are a bit late and this thread, too, will be locked...

You're exactly right once again steve666. Just as you may have feared, all of the moderators lost their jobs to cheaper lock-happy wetback laborers freshly sprung from the desert by Coyote. I know groverat has been replaced by Juan de rata. Nothing left for us good ole Americans to do but to lament the end of the first amendment while nibbiling on tamales and taquitos paid for by our unemployment checks.

Didn't you get the memo ?

We're officially 'Through the Looking Glass' now. It's all part of Govt. rebranding:

War = Peace
Oppression = Liberation

Reasonable threads = locked
Racist threads = allowed to run amok

The Mods are just doing their bit and being patriotic - as a major beneficiary of the policy you should like this situation rather than complain about it but I suppose the fact that you do rather proves the new rule of things working by opposites....carry on

I'm trying to figure out what the problem is here.

The thread was locked, not deleted, so you can read it over and over again!

One of the moderators seems to gets sick of the repeated arguments and personal attacks and stubborn points of view, so he decides, FOR US, when it's been enough.

Uh, huh.

He's just too lazy to be a proper moderator, so he uses the lock button. He's the only moderator in the history of AI who has ever said "do not start a new thread on this subject" and it's not a power he has been given by the members of this forum. It's not his decision what we can and cannot discuss, even when sometimes it gets annoying for him. He should stop this practice immediately. Edit or delete offensive posts. Issue warnings. Don't lock threads.

If you don't like the thread, don't read it, right? Well, he's the moderator so he's supposed to read threads to keep them civil. But when he starts to lose control and patience he just locks the thread instead of doing what is right.

He should stop this practice immediately.

He really should.
