This leaked memo leads one to question the integrity behind the invasion of Iraq by coalition forces.

From the "Secret Memo"
For instance, what were the consequences, if Saddam used WMD on day one, or if Baghdad did not collapse
and urban warfi ghting began? You said that Saddam could also use his WMD on Kuwait. Or on Israel, added
the Defence Secretary.
I don't think that quote squares with the belief that WMD was a total ruse. Also, where's the bit about doing all this for the oil?
Here is a better "secret memo":

No, dmz, it just shows pretty clearly that the british were following our lead and also kept largely in the dark by the US.

You don't need a memo to question the integrity of the GWB admin or the Blair admin over the invasion of Iraq. All you needed to do was to listen to what they were saying, and it was obvious they were lying and propagandizing.

Goodness, what a silly argument. Why would they even mention oil when they were looking for ways to justify an invasion?? Or is this just your way of derailing the thread after one post because of your childish problem with the poster?

Straw man.

Straw man.
Actually, the straw man is more inherent in offering a "secret memo" whose context includes:
his WMD capability was less than that of Libya, North Korea or Iran.
...and then the straw men writing the memo were kind enough to include:
The Prime Minister said that it would make a big difference politically and legally if Saddam refused to allow in the UN inspectors. Regime change and WMD were linked in the sense that it was the regime that was producing the WMD.
Oh, wait a minute, I thought there were no WMD, after what... 1992? 1995? 1998?, and "everyone" knew it.
So we are reading a "secret memo" that is supposed to incriminate the "lack of integrity" of the Bush administration, but it's couched in --- oddly enough --- late 20th century groupthink on Iraq?
I think instead of "Straw Man" it should be "FAR OUT, Man!!"
Just don't pass that Mexican redhair my way.
I'm confused -- oh wait, I get it now, the REAL conpiracy is that George Bush and his diabolical forces of evil SOMETIME BETWEEN HIS ELECTION AND THE EVENTS OF 9/11 tricked MI6 into thinking that SH really had the weapons that he really didn't, but that he didn't have before, which kept the sancitons and no-fly zones going, but got then to forget that he really didn't have, but then remembered later so we could go in on a mission of "blood for oil".
Far out, man.

You used to be somewhat "talkable" and reasonable, but recently you're starting to remind me of a very bitchy "Common Man". I just hope like him, you're doing it on purpose.

How does any other perceived straw man negate your own?
