Just found this great selection of quotes (http://www.reandev.com/taliban/) from Xian fundi.....err....US patriots.
It looks like a goldmine for new sigs but the trouble is I just can't decide which one to go for - they're all such quality.
I think my fave right now has to be: "A good butt-whipping and then a prayer is a wonderful remedy." from the Governor of Alabama but then again what about the classic "I don't know that atheists should be considered citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God." from Pappy Bush ?
I just can't decide - anyone else have a favourite ?

- Henry Morris (Institute for Creation Research)
When science and the Bible differ, science has obviously misinterpreted its data.
PS - There's some golden quotes in there, but let's not make this a Christian bashing thread. Feel free to unload on any of the individuals who say this crap, but let's not get into laying blanket accusations based on a few ridiculous quotes.

i'd like to think that most of those were taken out of context. like this one, "I would like to outlaw contraception...contraception is disgusting – people using each other for pleasure." i'm not sure if he's for or against. ;)
I'm sure it's fun in a rock-throwing, tribal, sort of way -- but really, segovious, if you can't argue effectively against Christianity straight on, why resort to these repeated smears?
I'm fairly certain that Mr S has mentioned the distinction he sees between Christianity and Xianity on several occassions. New content: I always pictured Ann Coulter as being older, maybe like America's Ann Widdecombe.

Actually, it's more fun in a post-modern, intellect worshipping, tail chasing, dead ended cul-de-sac bankrupt can't get there from here sort of way.

Well, I suppose that, like dancing the tango, effective argument necessitates a partner who understands the art form.
In the absence of 'dancing partners' of a particular skill level or, as in this case, partners who refuse to dance in time with the band and even deny the existence of a band, the concept of music as a whole and even anything called 'the tango' (preferring instead to stay rooted to the ground whilst howling cacophonously and insisting on calling it 'harmonious and graceful movement') one might very well resort to throwing rocks. Tribal or otherwise.
The fact that the intended recipients of the barrage cannot seem to grasp that the rocks are being thrown because of their complete lack of dancing skills rather than possession of exquisite ones is merely a sign that the rocks are too small too be effective and that perhaps we need to upgrade to large boulders powered by suitably medieval contraptions such as ballistas and trebuchets.
this is scary...
and do you think the American public will get to see it or be told about it? No. So, does it matter? no.
scary again...

I have to say that I do love this one from the fat junkie:
"If you commit a crime, you're guilty."

DMZ - there are quotes in there from the majority of the big christian leaders in the US. This is not a fringe issue.
