Skip to about 1:50 and watch the rest. I am truely disgusted at the Republicans for BREAKING the rules by not recognizing the points of order and simply ending the meeting unilaterally (not allowed). I am also truely disgusted at the fact that they cut the microphone of the Democrats and their witnesses after they tried to continue to talk to the experts. Thank goodness for C-Span; they were able to increase the gain on their mics so we could still here what was going on.

It reeks of facism.

What's really shocking is that I've seen seen coverage of this incident anywhere in "mainstream" media. We have Republicans turning off Democrats' microphoones, ending hearings without the required vote and insulting witnesses; all this authoritarian behavior ironically centered on hearings concerning the Patriot Act.

I'm really shocked at the state of democracy in America.

I'm really shocked at the state of democracy in America. The Democrats voted for it also. They are almost as bad as the Republicans. Things are much better when we split power between the two children I mean Parties. As an American iam offended by both sides partisanism dirty tricks and tactics while they both screw America a little more every day.

Over 65 Democrats voted against the Patriot Act, mostly from the Progressive Caucus. If anything, the more conservative Democrats need to be purged or converted into liberals.

I strongly disagree with you that power should be split. I would like a 100% progressive Democrat House and Senate.

I think we need a republican in there somewhere because the Democrats would be going off on their own stupid tangent just as the Republicans have been doing. Balance,Moderation and discussion is good. One Party running everything leads to an extremists fricking mess like we have now. Both parties are ran by their extreme sides hence neither should be trusted. America isnt the land of the extremists but the Washington Politicians sure are.

That's the LAST thing Republicans want. If by discussion you mean debate then you're discussing an antiquated system of government. Last time I checked it was guys like Naples who say that "debate/discussion" was hurting America.
