Apple certification?

My company has been moving me more and more into maintaining our Macs. My background is in PCs I currently repair the hardware and I work on Windows and Linux. My company wants me to certify on Apple which I was told is three exams OS, desktop, and portable. I need more information on the exams and where to get study materials. I know there are some materials on the Apple website but I do most of my reading on the train to and from work any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look up a guy called Detrius at MacNN as he has a plethora of apple certs.

I found a couple of books at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index=stripbooks:relevance-above&field-keywords=Apple%252520Certified&search-type=ss&bq=1&store-name=books/ref=xs_ap_l_xgl14/104-1626758-4667957) I will see if my boss will buy them. Anyone read these? Are they any good?
