Please Help - Can't Boot MBP

My macbook pro resumed from hibernate with the spinning disk, so I powered it off.

Now, whenever I power it on, I get an "Unresolved Kernel Trap". I can't boot and I don't know what to do......

I have booted with the Install disc and command-d and ran the system test. Everything Fine.

I booted the installe disc with command-c and ran Disk Utility. I verified and repairedthe disk and permissions.

Alas, I still get a kernel panic upon boot. Specifically:
Unresolved kernel trap(CPU0, Type=14 page fault),registers
..........................
....ommitting......
..........................

Do I have to reinstall the OS?

Ok I did an Archive and Install....

Upon reboot now I get IOKitWaitQuiet....

It just keeps getting worse.....


Any ideas?

Update:

Good News....I hope.....

After booting again with command-c the install program started up and prompted for Disc 2. I inserted disc 2, waited forever for it to install iLife, and....presto...I was back on my desktop!

I instantly backed up my critical stuff onto a dvd....and then rebooted with fingers crossed.

Amazingly it booted ok....I am cautiously optimistic.....

Sorry we didn't actually have anything for you. I hope everything remains stable!

Page fault is a normal condition - for it to crash on that makes me wonder about the RAM.

You might want to think about either making sure the RAM is seated firmly, or running the Hardware Test, or both.
