Forgive me, but... ai me, life is short and I will wring every drop of nectar from it that I can.

Which one is your favourite?

I'm back from a week of stuffing mailboxes for Shelley Sekula Gibbs . Good feeling about the election. I see a bad day for Dems.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Despite all the whining by the left, the people are happy. The people have money in their pockets and gas in their tanks. Republicans will stay in power.

The people agree with the Republicans. The Republican platform is far more in line with the people than is the Dem platform. The American people consider the homosexual agenda, the anti Christian agenda, the environmental agenda etc to be extremist. Today’s Republicans are very mainstream, if not a little left of center.

The Democrats only chance is to convince happy people that they really are not happy.

The people are speaking. The far left anti-Iraq war platform holds little water. Lamont won the primary because of a huge financial infusion from the far left. A bulb burns brightest just before it burns out.

The people are unhappy with the Republicans, but they don't trust the Democrats. Republicans will stay in power.

Local issues and economics matter more to the people than does the death toll. Few Americans are directly affected by the iraq war.

Very clever. The people are reminded of the dangers of the homosexual agenda. Combine this with The President's tuff-on-terror speach this morning and the Dems have no chance.

and this, the peachiest classic of a famous oeuvre:

Can I ask you where the source of your opinions come from?

I personally enjoyed the stuffing mailboxes one.

I didn't know it was illegal but when it was pointed out that it was, his lack luster reply lead me to believe he didn't really care about the law.

Which is completely understandable considering his propensity to deny reality itself, and if you can do that, why would you hold yourself accountable to something as inconsequential as the rule of law.

After putting up with so much insufferably smug right-wing dismissiveness about Democrats winning anything, I think the situation calls for a little slack for a day or two while the left wing of AO/PO indulges in a bit of well-earned gloating and schadenfreude. :D  :) 8) :smokey:

You have way too much time on your hands, Hassan.:D

You guys have control of the wheel. Do you know where you are going? Can you keep it on the road?

Well- IMO it sucks to put yourself completely on the line- only to find your hopes dashed. I think it's best to be honorable winners, put the partisan crap aside, and move on to making everything in the world better. It's certainly nice to see that there is a balance, and hopefully worhtwhile agendas are not deadlocked for the next two years.

Here's to better times :). And may the Republicans take heed and move onto a better era. I remember when the Dems lost their ass two years ago, and the dems had to re-evaluate their agenda and philosophy. Now it's time for the Repubs to do the same.

I'd have locked it, if it weren't for the following post.

The only sensible thing to do, SDW, is for you to boycott the boards in protest.

Alright, just to play along, I will lock it for now. I'm going to PM Southside to get his opinion.

I have heard back from Southside who stated that he "thought it was very funny" but that any fallout from the thread "...would be bad for the forum. It has never been my intention to hurt the forum."

As such, I'll be leaving this thread closed in the interest of civility.

We can all rest easy, though, 'cause it's a sure bet that Southside will continue the hyperbole. ;)
