Hi,

I have been using my amazing 15inch 2.33 with glossy screen for over a week now and it is awesome. I just noticed today that when I plug in the power adapter, the battery remains at 98% and does not go to 10%. The first 1-2 days, I remember seeing 100% but today, it remains on 98% and it doesnt even show that it is charging. if I choose the setting time, it shows charged but if I change the setting to percentage, it shows 98% and the icon shows plugged in and not charging. Is anyone else seeing it happen? Any ideas to how to fix this?

Thanks.

This is perfectly normal. To avoid too many charging cycles, your MacBook Pro will only start recharging the battery once the level falls below 95%. So whenever it falls below, it will be charged again to 100%.

Edit: Or do you mean your notebook is not charging at all when the level is 10%? (or was that a typo?)

Thanks for the response..It is charging, I just didn't know that it doesn't start unless it is less than 95%...I guess, 1 question is that why does it remain on 98% though. It was low, then it started charging, got charged till 98%. Just curious.

Ah, I see. You will have to do a so-called calibration cycle once in a while:

And also perhaps a PMU reset first:

Then your MBP will fully charge up to 100% again.
