Mine are
Republican: president Giuliani, vice-president Romney
Democrat: president Gore, vice-president Obama
I like some things about Romney, and don't like other things (he is anti-gay rights, pro-life, anti-cloning embrios), but as vice president he won't have that much power - and he seems to be a financial conservative, and big on firing people who screw up badly.

Wow, Giuliani? Really? All his divorces, shacking up with some gay roommates will bode well in the Bible belt? Well they are hypocrites so...
Gore & Edwards
Edwards & Clark/Kucinich
Stewart/Colbert (kidding!)
I like Edwards, he should be in there somewhere.

Not liking anyone in the field at this time.
Although I am not a Democrat or a Republican, Obama has certainly gotten people interested in what's going on a this early stage.

I don't like all there is to Mrs Clinton, but I think she'd be a great first female president. If for no other reason than to put Bill closer to the WH interns for more salacious stories. and i think she has a better-than-most chance at repeating bill's 8 years of pretty darned goodness; hopefully without a major military operation.

That's the problem, isn't it? The president needs to be able to use the military when it is necessary, not because it's convenient or more expedient.

And we can all hope that it will not be neither be convenient, expedient, nor even necessary. I, for one, hope.

A random draw of the population would be better then anything coming out of these two bastard partys. Neither doing the peoples work and both prostitutes to the Corporations.
Al Gore would be a great President, and with Edwards as VP I think they could pull a lot of votes in their direction. Other than them, Obama I would have to say is next in line. Clinton just does not seem to have the support at this point in time.

At least Al Gore, with his sitting on Apple's board of directors, could properly represent the Apple bloc vote. :D
Yes, Al Gore does his part to represent Apple. His MacBook was throned in his movie An Inconvenient Truth. There were multiple scenes with which his laptop was the centerpiece of the image, while he talked about his ideas in the background. I found that very interesting...

Bill's 8 year of pretty darned goodness are more based on happenstance than anything else. That is, he happened to get elected during the biggest economic boom in the nation's history. Politics had little to do with it, one way or the other.
I can't really say who my favorite candidates would be. The only visible, major party politician that I might endorse would be Ahhhnuld, who can't run. I despise career politicians, period.

I'm not that into politics :p
The reason I put down brown is because in the one democratic debate I watched during the last election cycle, she seemed to be the ONLY one up there that didn't constantly spout off predetermined talking points. She just said whatever the hell she really thought. Of course, that's probably because she knew she had no chance in hell.

He's a Republican candidate that can run as a reform candidate for the party. He is a Republican that has raised taxes for the right reasons (infrastructure) and also helps the party address part of what is wrong nationally with regard to perception of Southern states. (Unwillingness to address health matters, backward educational funding, etc.)
Is he a little to strong on the whole God bit for some of the mainstream folks, probably. However I don't think that will hurt in the primary and everyone runs to the middle for the general election.

Any Republican who raises taxes is a lousy Republican. The correct answer is: lower spending, or, if you're so inclined, gamble with supply-side econimics. I grant you the fact, however, that it seems like most Republicans today are lousy Republicans.

Being from the great state of Illinois and having had to put up with her as a U.S. senator for several years, I can tell you for sure she is useless, and I am a Democrat.

Yep. His Inconvenient Truth movie also had some pretty strong political segments. He didn't just throw those in there to add to the movie. He could very easily have made his argument without discussing his setbacks from losing to Bush in 2000. I'd be pretty darn thrilled if Gore won this time around...

Duly noted! Seriously, I don't really know anything about either of them; I was just pulling stuff out of my ass.
I'm not planning on learning anything about the potential candidates until debates are scheduled. It's too tiresome for me otherwise.

Edwards will never get my vote
- he is a commission based lawsuit laywer, so he is scum of the earth - no chance of any real tort reform under his leadership.
- he just creeps me out (I don't know why - kind of like a "ken doll" made real)
- he was elected to represent the state of NC and he didn't do it (spent all his time running for president instead, and in his first term in office).

Fringe whacko candidates like Kucinic and Giuliani will definitely add some spice to the campaign.
On the Republican side I like Romney.
On the Democrat side I like Gore. I like Clinton too. But I'm cringing at the potential media cirucs the GOP and cable news will degenerate into if/when she runs.

Guaranteed Quality Education, Pre-K Through College
Full Social Security Benefits at Age 65

International Cooperation: US out of Iraq, UN in [Fat Chance of that happening, why would the UN take that crappy job?]
Jobs and Withdrawal from NAFTA and WTO [= higher prices, fewer jobs]
Guaranteed Quality Education, Pre-K Through College [= higher taxes, no results, public education already more expensive than private]
Full Social Security Benefits at Age 65 [= higher taxes]
Balance Between Workers and Corporations [= fewer jobs]
Environmental Renewal and Clean Energy [= higher energy costs, fewer jobs, higher taxes]
Restored Rural Communities and Family Farms [= more farm subsidies, which we have to much of already]

I think Giuliani has this overly glorified public opinion because of September 11th. He wasn't responsible for New York's crime drop, Norma L. McCorvey was (look this up if you don't know what I'm talking about). He did do a good job responding to September 11th, given the circumstances. But I really don't think he has enough experience and sense of direction and initiative to do a great job.
I do not think H. Clinton would be a good choice. She is too much of a politically correct ass kisser.
In my opinion, Gore is the best candidate for president. He is incredibly focused on what is important, has initiative, and a drive. If he were elected, he would actually get something done. I also like Barack Obama; He is very charismatic and intelligent, but I don't think he has enough of a drive (at the moment) to be president.
So I completely agree with you! Gore prez / Obama vice

I would really like to see some evidence that NAFTA and WTO have created any jobs in this country.
Here are the facts about NAFTA through 2003.

It's not the amount of tax dollars, but what you do with it. Some prefer mass-murdering people overseas, others give priority to environment, healthcare and education.
So, take your "higher taxes" BS, and ... you got the picture I hope. ;)
Don’t know much about NAFTA (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=nafta+sucks&btnG=Google+Search), but last time I checked human rights and environmental organizations were against it, and multinational corporations were for.
“…
overwhelmingly young women at work, has also spurred widespread sexual violence against women in the border region. Many of these abuses occur at the workplace itself, eg. forced sterilization, routine menstruation checks, body searches, deployed to police the reproductive capacities of Mexican women to maximize the productivity of the labor force
…”
Sorry dude, no go … unless you are ready to send your own mother and daughter/wife for a “forced sterilization, routine menstruation checks, and body searches” … let me know about this one. ;)
Also, please tell us if it’s ok to dumb few tons of hazardous industrial waste in your backyard … I am itching here. We wont touch your back door … it’s a promise.
WTO (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wto#Criticism_3)?
Environmental Renewal and Clean Energy – is it better to subsidize EV1 and Prius or f-ed in a head Hummer owners? (http://www.taxpayer.net/TCS/whitepapers/SUVtaxbreak.htm) :wow:
Family Farms? Let them generate normal (organic) products, which don’t harm their workers and environment, and I’ll be happy to subsidize them forever.
These commonsense answers may not be obvious to someone from the state that has more churches than schools, but wouldn’t you generally agree that it’s better to give people education than to send them to kill and die (http://www.informationclearinghouse.info) for our world domination (http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article1665.htm)?
BTW, don’t they say that peace is the greatest good during Sunday school? :???: Or it’s more like: “War is peace”, “Ignorance is strength” (http://www.studentsfororwell.org/), “Want peace – prepare for war”, “Reds (... sorry ... Muslims) are coming" (hide under the table) deal?
