Why is Quicktime sucking?

I'm trying to watch the keynote streaming Quicktime and all I get is choppy video and incoherent sound. Can I tweek the settings to fix this?

This is strange, I could never get a stream of the Keynote on my TiBook (1ghz) or another TiBook in my house, but my Cube got a stream right away. Both running JAG on the same Wireless network. How can that be?

Well, I got mine working...
For some reason qt settings had to be reconfigured...I never touch quicktime...

I was chatting right before the keynote, while trying to catch the stream, and some kind soul suggested some stuff to me that actually made Quicktime connect and stream without as much as a hiccup (I am on a &gt;1Mbit DSL, but that's just circumstancial). Here's what he suggested:

In system preferences, open Quicktime pane.
Under the 'Connection' tab, Press the 'Transport setup' button, in the dialog that appears, choose HTTP as transport protocol, instead of UDP. Apparently, this seems to stream like it has never streamed before.

yes, this solves all problems with streams in quicktime. Do this and be happy!!

Wish I had known that during the keynote… when it was live it was really sucking, I would occasionally get a snippet of sound, and the picture updated about once every twenty seconds. Well, now I know.

It did help a bit when I turned off Instant-On. It does say that Instant-On will reduce the quality in the little box, so I turned that off and it helped a tiny bit.
