Problem installing Office:Mac

Unfortunately it's a necessary evil for Excel...
This is the first software issue that has me properly stumped on the Mac!

I open the .dmg image and double click the office setup assistant. it appears bouncing in my Dock and then just quits with no warning...
I am also unable to install excel manually as I'm not sure what additional files (apart from the program) must be copied into the applications folder...
I get the cannot load Microsoft office Shared Libaries...

Any help would be more than appreciated! It's driving me mad! :no:

What is on your install disk? I didn't think that Office came as a .dmg file. Have you tried simply dragging the Office folder from the CD onto your hard drive, it will install everything you need.
