Based on the weak and circumstantial evidence at http://www.apple.com/home/ , are we to conclude that:
1. There is no change in the Powermac line. "Hey, we said they're fast. They're fast enough."
2. There will be a minor speedbump in the Powermacs, enough to hold off the wolves, but not enough to be newsworthy per se.
3. Nothing right now, because in three more weeks those kick-ass G5 supermacs we've been begging for are coming.

If the iMac is at 800 MHz, Apple is hard pressed not to upgrade the Power Mac line.
I'm sure there'll be some kind of update to the Power Macs.

Reason for no mention of Power Macs and Power Books is simple.
Way beyond. G5 Towers. DP/QP.
G5 PowerBooks.
Touch Sensitive screens.
And one more thing: Home Entertainment Digital Hub.

$1799 gives you a 800MHz G4 with 15" LCD.
$1699 gives you a 733MHz G4 with no LCD.
Apple better update the PowerMacs.

Apple's teasing us. We ALL knew that flat panel iMac was one the way. Apple knew that we knew. So they showed us...they want us to tune into the Quicktime stream. There is no way that the new iMac and 14 inch iBook can take up the whole time. I suspect that iPhoto demo will take 1/2 hour then new iMac 1/2 hour, 10 mins on iBook bump (14 inch screen), then that leaves 50 minutes! What next? We'll see. Why would people by an 867 Power Mac when they could by the 800 iMac (With Superdrive, mind you) for cheaper?
There has got to be 'something else'!
***Well I guess I was wrong. Perhaps they will announce at MWT? Who knows.

Holy sh!t. I didn't really think I'd be right.
I need to go lie down now. Do they just not plan on selling any towers for the next 3 months?

Based on past experience, what makes you think there will be any reason to buy a PowerMac in 3 months?
