Just found this amazing site food for design (http://foodfordesign.blogspot.com/search/label/physics) which highlights the links between natural patterns and well...design...

My favourites are the videos which show the patterns created by exposing ferrofluids to magnetic forces, creating really weird pseudo-animations.

Great fascinating stuff!

But i'll diverge a little secret - this looks like a collection of stuff taken from New Scientist, seen pretty much all of that since i've been subscribing for a year or so. Buy hey, thats why I subscribe :D
