Of course you have to donate to a Republican to make it happen, but I'm sure all of you are up on your Art of War reading.

Come on... you know you want to make it happen.

Clinton versus Gingrich v2.0

Dear God!

Gingrich will easily fall short of his goals. He's not a very attractive candidate, and he's really kidding himself.

On the flipside, Ron Paul ( www.ronpaul2008.com ) beat his goal of raising half a million by the end of this month and elevated the bar to raise $1 million by the end of this month. Looks like he'll easily make this goal. He's got my donation.

I'd like to see Paul run as an independent in the general election. That way he'll splinter the vote insuring a Democratic white house.

We can get all Art of War with this, but grammatically, please!

I think there will be enough splintering in the Democratic Party as it is.

That's the 85th time you've mentioned The Rapture Man going back to the 5th of May, 2007! :D

Elapsed days = 124, or 0.685 per day, you're falling way behind as of late, you should at least get your average up to one per day! :err:

EDIT - Search limited to AO.

The Democrats are on a suicide run, with their two top contenders being unelectable, namely a black man, and a white woman. Everyone seems to know this, except the Democatic Party. In private communications within the GOP, they are now saying that if Hillary wins the Democratic nomination, then it is the best chance the GOP have of retaining the White House. If that happens, it will serve the Dems right. I would love to see a woman win the Presidency of course, but not Hillary. Lets not even go there.

Nick, the word you're looking for is "ensure", not "insure". You're a schoolteacher, right? So I think it's best if you know the difference.

Obama can't be elected not because he's black but because he's inexperienced. He needs to go be governor of Illinois for 8 years and then run. Hillary can't be elected not because she's a white woman but because people just don't like her.

Of course Mydo's take is the larger factor. However, re. both candidates, I cannot see the large section of traditionalists in this country who would never vote a black person of either party or gender, or a woman from either party or color suddenly changing their tune overnight.

The point being, the Democrats are putting all their chances in promoting two people who are unelectable for multiple reasons. What is up with that? After Kerry's pathetic silence in the wake of the 2004 Ohio fraud, and the refusal of the current crop of Democrats in both Houses to be a real opposition party, it's almost as if they have given up before they start, going through the motions. Why bother spending all that money, and putting in all this "token effort" into a campaign, when the result is a foregone conclusion?

trumptman

The result is a foregone conclusion? I expect Hillary to wipe the floor with whatever Republican she runs against.

You have to be kidding. Or at least I hope so! An administration promoting empire-building, preemptive wars, a controlled demolition of the Constitution, loss of civil rights, elistism and cronyism etc. etc. etc. which is out front and blatant about it, rather than the proverbial wolf in sheep's clothing is surely preferable. At least the people would have a better chance of knowing who their common enemy is.

If Hillary wins the nomination, and is elected (please, Universe, not!), then people everywhere who oppose the last 6 years "stuff" will breathe a collective sigh of relief and think "everything's OK now".

Yeah, as if!

Well that is the point though isn't it? She is all those traits you listed and hides behind the right intentions. I mean when ask who passed NAFTA, who gave us Don't Ask/Don't Tell, etc... it is the Clinton's.

Good luck with those ideas.

It will probably be a sad day for republicans. I don't think they could have gotten more bad press in the last year. Also I think the smart thing to do would be for Hilary and Obama to go on the ticket together.

Look at 2004. How could it be any worse for Bush? Yet he won. Crying "stolen election" is not the answer. It removes blame from the candidate and the party. It robs the democrats of the opportunity to figure out why they lost and how to fix it. It took the catastrophe of Iraq to help the dems win in 2006. That seems to be the only way they can win these days. If the only way they can make gains is when the repugs are in free fall then that doesn't bode well for the future of the party.

Obama would make a great VP but Hillary will have a hard time winning as president.

The Ron Paul spamming isn't funny. What's funny is your catching him.

What is funny is you calling Ron Paul support spam.

I think what you fail to realize is that there is a crimped water hose effect of pent up demand for a candidate like Ron Paul. A candidate with integrity unlike that seen by any candidate in modern history. When the option is available to select a candidate with this level of integrity it does stir up people with a thirst for such integrity. I mean just look at the alternatives and how established / dumbed down / mainstream they are. Look how bonded the others are to their vested interests special interests.

Add that to the very real possibility of a right-wing-religious independent candidate, and it doesn't look too rosy for the Republican nominee.

First off a lot of things have happened in the last year so yes it's worse off. Thwe American people have become much more discussed with the war so yes it's worse off!

Remember when most of the conservatives were saying they couldn't take the Senate?;)

I think Hilary will surprise you.

Most people I talk to take it for granted now days that it'll be a democrat next time.
