Rupert? I thought he was a purveyor of the right wing noise machine?
I expected a 360...expect FoxNews to have a reversal plan in effect by 2008. Republicans are jumping ship, evangelists switching "faiths", military bailing and voters will too.

Rupert? I thought he was a purveyor of the right wing noise machine?
He also donated massively to Blair in the UK.
It's the policies he supports - always right-wing- regardless of whether they are being pushed by alleged 'lefties'.
When you see Murdoch support someone you know two things:
1) They will win.
2) They are a fascist.
Btw; what are Ive and that tool Bono doing on that list? Are either of them US citizens?

...... to coincide with Hillary Clinton's turncoat status. In 1994, she had some spine, namely people mattered (who???), but now she's now a hybrid of self-serving and corporately bought. If she gets elected (God forbid), she will continue the current agenda, but from observing the thuggish arrogance of the Bush administration, will have learned how to accomplish those aims with a little more diplomacy and subtlety, to achieve those same ends in a publicly more "acceptable" fashion.

But, if the next president is a Republican he won't have any way to sell papers. His "enemies" will have all disappeared.

You make it sound like lack of citizenship has ever stopped the Clinton's from collecting their donations before. SHeesh.:p

Or one could look at it the other way...
"Hillary? I thought she was a purveyor of left-wing extremists?"

When Bush was raising ungodly amounts of money and receiving contributions from Murdoch, it was proof (according to some) that he was a bought and paid for corporatist. Now we see Hillary and Dems in general raising ungodly amounts of money and receiving contributions from Murdoch and it is proof they are _______. (crickets chirping as we watch all the hypocrits who declared big money in politics to be bad no matter to who it went fall silent.)

Obama's contributions are smaller in amount and far more numerous.
That criticism applies to Clinton, but not Obama.
So what you are saying then is Clinton is no different and no better than Bush with regard to fund-raising and selling out to large donors?

Rupert Murdoch is probably giving money to Hillary Clinton because he thinks she is less likely to beat the Republican nominee than Edwards or Obama. I would agree with that.

I think we should spend a lot more time investigating why every dishwasher (http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-donors19oct19,0,4231217.story?coll=la-home-center) in every asian ethnic enclave seems to have a couple thousand dollars to drop on Hillary. It reminds me of some poverty pledging monks way back when who were handing Gore envelopes of cash. Of course that was back before he was chartering private jets to fly around the world and talk to us about our energy use so I can see why some of us have forgotten.

One good side to all this is that the Clinton Death-Count Clock will be able to start running again, almost as fast as the tax increases that will be passed. If we can just get enough GOP voter shuttle tires slashed, secure the dead Native American and living illegal vote, and buy off a few key consitutencies with the People's money...
---------
"People... think I raised your taxes too. much. It might surprise you to know that I think I raised them too much, too" - Bill Jeff, after getting spanked at the mid-term, 10/17/95.
Get ready for the echo of history... hopefully Mrs. Bill Clinton has learned that when you take people's guns, and jack up their taxes, you lose majorities.

Do we really need to go back and take a look at where BushCo got all his campaign money...
Do we?
Can anyone say Richard Mellon Scaife, the right's George Soros and founder of The Arkansas Project (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkansas_Project).
Not to mention his shady dealings in Texas. But hey, Hillary's a cunt, so who cares.
For example, the University of Texas' Investment Management Company (UTIMCO) invests $1.7 billion of state money. Most of this comes from profits from oil discovered on Texas state land. Bush's cronies dominate this board, and in return investment funds controlled by these very cronies or their friends have received nearly a third -- $457 million -- of that massive investment pool. There may even be more, but this obscure group -- created under Bush -- cloaks its operations in a thick veil of secrecy.
UTIMCO's chairman, Tom Hicks, now owns the Texas Rangers; his purchase of the team made Governor Bush a very rich man. Furthermore, Hicks and his brother gave $146,000 to the Bush campaign. In return, $252 million of the invested money went to funds run by Hicks' business associates or friends, according to the Houston Chronicle. Hicks even insisted that UTIMCO increase by $10 million an investment with a fund that he had an indirect financial interest in, but UTIMCO staff halted funding after they discovered the conflict.
Then there's Sam and Charles Wyly, the billionaire brothers who secretly bought $2.5 million of "independent" TV ads slamming McCain just before the critical Super Tuesday primaries. (They have also given hundreds of thousands of dollars to Bush Jr.'s governor and presidential campaigns.) They control Maverick Capital, an investment fund that received $90 million of UTIMCO money. The brothers earn nearly $1 million in fees alone from that money, along with a share of any profits.
Henry Kravis of Kohlberg, Kravis & Roberts -- a longtime Bush contributor -- received a $50 million investment deal in 1996. And there are many more Bush supporters who have received millions from UTIMCO, including the Bass family and Adele Hall of the Hallmark Cards family.
Another key player in the Bush world is Richard Rainwater, the billionaire Texas investor who made Bush Jr.'s original involvement in the Texas Rangers deal possible. That's the deal that made Jr. rich, of course. Bush had several other personal investments in Rainwater controlled companies. But Rainwater has received much from Bush and the state of Texas' treasury, too. UTIMCO invested at least $20 million in Rainwater companies.

Hmmmm.. is it better to be bought off by American corporations, or foreign communist governments...? Hmmmm.... toss up on that one... I love the choices we get to make.

Neo-Cons Push for Hillary’s Nomination (http://www.beyondchron.org/news/index.php?itemid=5011)
Conservatives like Krauthammer understand that, as America stands on the brink of a new progressive era, it would better serve their interests to have a President like Hillary who will appease the left with empty promises.....Hillary is a “safe” bet for them – since they know how much of a calculating opportunist she is, and how she has always avoided siding too much with liberals.
Because she is such an opportunist, Hillary has moved on to co-opt Republicans on “national security” grounds so that Rudy Giuliani doesn’t beat her on that issue in the general election.
Neo-cons could not be more pleased, and this is why they will continue to do what they can to make sure Hillary is the Democratic nominee.

Well, I'm glad to see we're all on the same page.
Seriously, though, forget Bush. He's not popular, and he's not in this election. Most of us agree that he has overseen a very frustrating administration, and most of the GOP wants nothing to do with him.
