Just thought I'd say that theme is awesome. I plan on installing it when I get back to school on Monday.

Heh.. what is the "creative type?" I didn't know there was a specific attribute for that.

Ummm... guys... isnt that screenshot form windows XP? Im serious, that looks identical to an XP theme... Infact that window is even pretty similar to the display properties in WinNT/2k/XP.
I think Ill stick with Aqua... Now if only I could get a good Aqua theme for Win2k/XP

That's the windows version of Sosumi someone made. The OS X version looks better indeed ;)

Do you have that posted anywhere? I saw SosumiXP posted by TheRoadWarrior but it does not look that good.

that's my version of Sosumi for XP... it's nearly done, just need to do a few more things, and polish up a few areas, then it'll be ready for a release. :)

Post it when you're done, it looks spiffy.

By that time Sosumi will have changed hehe. I am redoing some of it now.
Nothing drastic.

Out of curiosity, why would anyone chose to make their mac look like that when they have aqua as an option?

I don't know either, Mandricard, OSX's UI just isn't built to be skinned. Aqua is the UI, IMO.

Well Aqua is great when you're surfing and writing emails. If any of you kids actually had to do some real work :D in hi-end applications you would find that Aqua is a visual pain in the butt <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

totaly! Aqua kicks ass. No disrespect to the theme maker, but aqua is simaly better. I do not see why so many people whant such a borring plain theme.

Not every one thinks Aqua looks good IMHO.

Actually it's not that hard once you you know how. XP has similar guidelines you can't cross as far as shape and structure.

Well obviously not everyone thinks Aqua kicks ass. Aqua while pretty and fun to look at .. is distracting when doing graphics and the such IMHO. That and those stripes give me a headache.
I got a bigger response than I thought I would for this theme. I made it for myself to use.. some of the people i know online wanted a copy.. etc.. then more people wanted it. So I decided to release it. Just like I know people who like WinXP's GUI .. and there are people who like Classic Windows look.
While Sosumi does have a classic OS 9 look.. it's not as dated looking.

Thanks for Sosumi, that is the first theme I like 90 per cent. All others were in the low twenties. :D
However I could think of some improvement in those left 10 per cent:
*Transparency in menus is so low that opaque would be better.
*Transparency of window title areas could be off as well.
(Both can be had by doing some other alpha mask I think, but as long as I cannot get the latest version of Sprocket I'm lost doing it myself)
*The progress bars and barber poles are a bit pale and I would like them a bit darker and with more contrast.
I know you cannot do this, anyway, I am very much pleased with what I got so far, but in case you do an update and find one of the above pleasing..... ;)
Thank You. :)

I made them that way on purpose. Cause that is the way I like them ;)

As well as I made the barber poles like that on purpose. :)

I must say, on Sinewave's defence, that the transparency he has included allows Sosumi to incorporate some of the stunning Quartz technology with the cleanliness and usability of OS 9. Actually its much cleaner and smoother than OS 9.
Removing the transparency would make Sosumi just another Kaleidoscope Theme for OS 9.
I'm rather ambivalent when it comes to the progress bars however.
And how does one acquire Sprocket? The link Sinewave gave on the Macnn forums was to a dead end.
You may reply to me in private.

This whole idea of themes is interesting. If they come out with an Aqua theme for XP, I will really be tempted to pick up an Athlon 1800 or whatever it's called w/ the best GeForce 3 and that's not a good thing. Other mac users might consider it too. All I can say is don't be tempted by evil.

Nice job, Sinewave. This is the first OSX theme I've ever used for more than 3 minutes without removing it from my machine. I put it on my iBook and liked it so much, I put it on my G4 too.
