Is the implication here that Bush's entourage is larger than normal for a president?

I did some researching and found that Bill and Hillary after the presidency:
According to Observer sources, between her aides, friends and Secret Service protectors Rodham Clinton's entourage occupied 40 rooms. (http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/html/20040419T000000-0500_58740_OBS_HILLARY_CLINTON_LEAVES_JAMAICA_HOLI DAYED_AT_TRYALL.asp)
During his book signing:
The former President is constantly surrounded by an entourage of more than 20 bodyguards. So when he attended a book signing in London on Thursday, he brought a crowd of his own. (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=485696&in_page_id=1770)
As far as Bush, he is a war president, his popularity everywhere is shit but I'm sure he has that "delusion of grandeur" thing going for him on overkill.
Here's the Presidential Entourage on Sept 10 in NYC 2006. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6B8N0OAB_U) Honestly, this is insane.
The Secret Service SUVs come equipped with some amazing pop guns. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAZ2qvhJGgU) :wow:
How times have changed! After Thomas Jefferson's inauguration, he reportedly ambled alone down to a public house on Pennsylvania Avenue for lunch where he joined a group of strangers at a communal table.

Yeah, exactly.
Just from watching the West Wing, I know that Presidents have an enormous staff and security detail. Didn't anyone see that episode where Bartlett goes to Oklahoma after a tornado and he's basically told that he has to leave because they're using up all the hotel rooms?

I went to see president Gerald Ford give a speech at our mall in Plymouth Meeting in 1975. This was right after the Squeaky Fromme assassination attempt (his second as president). He had about a half dozen cars. I remember after the speech we were crossing the street and the entourage drove right by us. He waved too. :D
Did you know that Bush's shit and piss is top secret?
The White House flew in a special portable toilet to Vienna for Bush's personal use during his visit. The Bush White House is so concerned about Bush's security, the veil of secrecy extends over the president's bodily excretions. The special port-a-john captured Bush's feces and urine and flew the waste material back to the United States in the event some enterprising foreign intelligence agency conducted a sewage pipe operation designed to trap and examine Bush's waste material. One can only wonder why the White House is taking such extraordinary security measures for the presidential poop.

Of course if Al Gore ever became president he would be criticized for not taking his bicycle.

Ugghh.

I think it's different for a high ranking elected official. But I would hope he wouldn't lecture us on how to live. Right now though, he's not required to use the means of transport he does.

Um. He's a former Senator and Vice President. They get continuing security details even after they leave office.

I've asked you before. How do you suggest he travel, safely and efficiently, to do the things that he believes he needs to do? Do you really expect him to fly commercial? Seriously?
Isn't this thread a violation of the posting guidelines?:p
