The Apple retail stores will give customers education discounts on hardware but not software.

Not true. Used my wife's education discount several times in retail Apple Stores on software.

Was this recently? Every time I ask about software discounts they (Apple) say no way. What did you buy?

It was probably 6-8 months ago. I can't say they will do it for all software, but I know we got it on .Mac and Office.

There is no ed discount on .Mac.

Ahh..guess thats why I only paid $67 to renew it then with the discount.
