I watch the "mainstream" democratic candidates do anything to win. I see stupid blunders by a seemingly "smart" Obama. I see Clinton toss out a statement about nuking Iran today and it makes her appear just as hawkish on Iran as John McCain.

One wonders just what is going on in American politics.

ohh and speaking of Iran and war etc....

Liked the Rloveution signs. They were fun. Other than that, no.

I think you are mistaken. Bush works for the elite in the world.

Ron Paul questions the elite in the world. He also questions policy.

I do.

Simply because he stirred it up and dared to refer to (gasp!) the Constitution of the United States, and how bloated, power-drunken, and downright unconstitutional so many aspects of the current US Government have become.

I think he did wake a lot of people up to things like Federal Reserve Banking, limitless war powers, and the dangers of things like PATRIOT.

It's not that simple.

His economic policies are essentially Gilded Age 2.0.

I suppose we can continue to mail people stimulus checks and start more wars with countries like Iran? Is this your idea of modern "successful" economic policies?

That said, The Breakers, once summer home of Anderson Cooper's gilded-age forebears, is pretty insane.

If any of you get a chance to make it up to Newport for a weekend sojourn, take it!

I knew he was a liberal elitist, but WOW... 8-)

not so much, Dale.

"Good and Proper" Laissez-Faire stinks of what we define as elitist. To each as their means and all that.

In answer to the question by the OP: No.

I do. He was never a meaningful candidate, but he forced others to think about and address topics they would have preferred to avoid.

While he may have had some good ideas here and there, as I said all along Ron PaulŪ was this year's Snakes on a Plane; all sizzle, no steak!!

The Biltmore Estate (http://www.biltmore.com/) in NC (another gilded-age Vanderbilt monstrosity) might be a more manageable trip for you.

It's even insane-ier.

Pfft, those are nice, but I grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY. About 10 minutes away from the Vanderbilt mansion (http://www.nps.gov/vama/) and the FDR mansion (http://www.nps.gov/hofr/) Historic Sites.

My wife and I toured the Biltmore last October. It's incredible. There were several John Singer Sargent paintings along with all the extravagant decorations. The house alone is beyond amazing... especially considering he was only in his 20s when he built it (had it built).

Anderson Cooper's a nice guy, I've met him and don't have any bad word for him.

And back to the original post...

I haven't seen any stupid blunders by Obama thus far. I see desperate, shallow, baseless attacks on him. Nothing more. The entire "bitter controversy" was fabricated and amplified by pundits and opponents. False attacks are nothing more than that.

Even though I like and support a lot of what Ron Paul has said, I don't miss it one bit. I put my trust in Obama and know that he will be the nominee and the next president. Look through the cloud of shit that is the constant barrage of spin, bias and opinion that makes up the majority of main stream "news" (infotainment).

(by the way... Ron Paul's still technically in the race)

No. I don't miss Ron Paul. How could I miss a man with zero foreign policy experience and whose economic policies equate to "survival of the economically fittest", i.e. the rich get way richer and the poor get shafted. I say, "No way!" to economic anarchy, so I need to say "No way!" to Ron Paul. So what if he's honest and his intentions are good. His ideas are moronic and would fuck up the country even further.

I miss all candidates for whom economic policy requires a time machine.

He was blacked out by the media because of his "no more wars for Israel policy." I don't miss him because he is not gone. He turned on many people to what the Republican party was supposed to be about. Not this neo-con bull that Bush and his war mongering Israeli cabinet have turned it into.
