iTunes doesn't recognize iPod

I just updated iTunes and my iPod (to 1.1.5) and now iTunes doesn't recognize my iPod, and the music, videos, and iTunes applications on my iPod open then immediately close. I can't even restore my iPod to it's original settings! I am on a Windows computer by the way!

What kind of iPod do you have, what year was it made?

Which version of itunes are you running and which windows version?

It maybe something has corrupted with itunes.

Also did Quicktime get installed at the same time as itunes which it should under windows?
