The biggest story now is McCain's "blame it on the media" blitz.

McCain's aide is asked on CNN (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYYiw_y2qDI) (by a generally right-leaning presenter) to name one executive decision Palin made as chief of the Alaska National Guard, and how that gives her the experience necessary to be Commander-in-Chief. This embarrasses McCain, because the only answer to that question is "none" (or "she deployed them to fight fires") and "it doesn't". So McCain has a little hissy fit and pulls out of a scheduled Larry King interview.

Are we really to believe that asking about Sarah Palin's executive experience is out of bounds (no pun intended)?

Is this how McCain is going to act as President? You bet it is.
Is that the kind of person you want to be President? Hell no.

McCain's barbecue buddy, the media, is now McCain's biggest enemy. How is this going to play throughout his presidency if he's elected? What if the UK criticizes him? Will he bomb London?

OK... that was a bit extreme, and unlikely (seeing how British Prime Ministers love to kiss the American President's ass even while their constituents are outraged), but what about other allies? Is this the next step toward American isolationism? How will this affect trade? The dollar?

Joe Klein, Time Magazine (http://www.time-blog.com/swampland/2008/09/angry_amateurs.html)

A poignant final paragraph:

There is a tendency in the media to kick ourselves, cringe and withdraw, when we are criticized. But I hope my colleagues stand strong in this case: it is important for the public to know that Palin raised taxes as governor, supported the Bridge to Nowhere before she opposed it, pursued pork-barrel projects as mayor, tried to ban books at the local library and thinks the war in Iraq is "a task from God." The attempts by the McCain campaign to bully us into not reporting such things are not only stupidly aggressive, but unprofessional in the extreme.

I'd love to know how the McCain supporters in this forum feel about McCain's war with the media. Was his withdrawal from the King interview called for? Is asking about Palin's relevant experience unfair? Is McCain a big cry baby? How will he act as president?

I love the bit about Palin raising state taxes. Is that how she is going to fund her national Creationism fund if McCain croaks and she becomes President?

McCain is smart to go to war with the media, because the media is full of pussies and the American people don't really trust the media. It's the perfect way for McCain to perpetuate the fake image of himself as the underdog.

Yes, McCain is a crybaby. The entire campaign is full of crybabies.

"When asked if he would keep the straight talk coming, McCain replied, "You think I could survive if I didn't? We'd never be forgiven..."

The straight talk express has derailed. And McCain is a pussy and big fat liar.

*&%@ the media. They were licking McCain's boost for years. Now they have to be more even the couple has broken up. Instead of "media" we should just call them "McCain's ex-girlfriend".
