Am I the only one that has noticed that now Barrack Obama is running for President and can seriously make it, the whole US economy has been smote as punishment?

Or that when McCain is unrepentant in his rabble-rousing the economy tanks? And when he repents, it recovers? Or that when Obama is tied, the economy tanks? And when he pulls ahead to a commanding lead the market has its biggest gain in history.

I think at one point some conservative commentator was floating the idea the markets were tanking out of fear of an Obama planet, so I do think it's fair to give him credit for the rally.

God hates the Obama adjacent.
You'd think He or one of His local representatives would post here to confirm exactly how many plagues and of what description will be cast upon the USA.
My guesses are:
A downturn in pre-Christmas retail trade.
A disappointing run of new TV shows on CBS.
Two more sequels announced to the Da Vinci Code, with the leads being played by Van Diesel and Britney Spears.
An American Idol iPod, with silver tassles, released.
Steve Jobs declared infallible by the Apple board, and it goes to his head.
Americans begin to lose weight as famine strikes, after 80% of livestock is diverted to fuel cars.
Cars gain weight for 3rd decade in a row.
Moose numbers grow to dangerous levels whilst Sarah Palin is distracted in Washington. Anchorage evacuated and view of Russia obscured by antlers.
New line of salad burgers at Macdonalds leads to worldwide collapse of company and bailout by the Fed.
Mexico closes border to Americans fleeing south to seek better life.

There is no link between punishment and Barak Obama
The truth is that the punishment is just the logical consequence of bad regulation and bad behaviors coming from the financial market.
Unfortunately for Mac Cain, his ground of predilection is not the economy, but foreign policy.
So the truth is that if Obama will win, it will certainly related to the financial bankrupcy.

I sat next to a very interesting man coming on a plane coming back from Copenhagen last month.
He was an economist. He explained that the market was convulsing because it was rejecting Republicanism. He said, in as many words, that the market was rejecting McCain.
He explained it to me properly. Which I can't do. Obviously.

I would not say that the market is rejecting republicanism, I said that the market was foolish and pay the bill now.
According to Gordon Brown, this crisis was announced ten years ago. The lack of regulation of the financial market is the main reason.
A new kind of regulation has to be found, and I truly expect, that only economic perspective will prevail, and not the eternal right/left debate.

It's always hard to be objective when it comes to politics. Had Hassan sat next to someone that had a coherent and well reasoned argument about how the market was reacting in fear to an inevitable Obama administration I'm sure he's never believe it let alone post it here for us to learn from.

Ah, well, you see, it's generally believed everywhere in the world that Barack Obama has a coherent economic policy and the character to implement it while John McCain is a twitchy old guy who desperately wants to be President. So it's quite unlikely that anyone would have said that.
Did you know that Barack Obama is incredibly popular everywhere in the world, scott? It's really amazing how incredibly popular he is everywhere in the world.

Which is why we must elect John McCain.
"The world", here in the God blessed United States of America, is understood to be a vaguely defined terrain teaming with fags, commies, tin horn dictators, undifferentiated masses of slum dwelling scary people, those fucking pussies at Cannes, sweaty followers of false Gods, smug Euro-blow hards that don't even know they are slaves to the state, those fucking pussies on the Nobel Prize committee, yet another bunch of refugees, people who have stolen our jobs, people who are trying to sneak across our borders, and France.
I mean, fuck those losers. Of course they like Obama. He's French.

Um no that's just yours and others politics. I'm sure the world popularity contest doesn't hinge on comparison of economic policy.

Of course not. The world popularity contest hinges on who can invade the most countries.

Well, OK. I concede I can't speak for the rest of the world on the subject of Obama's economic policy.
Unless it's included under the broad umbrella of 'Barack Obama is an infinitely better candidate than John McCain'.
Which he is, of course, and that's probably why simply electing the guy will make America and Americans popular again, like they used to be, you know, before George Bush fucked it all up for you.
Edit: :)
Barack Obama's going to win the election.

It's a really funny thing -- everyone in the world thinks that Obama is a calm, intelligent man with a sense of international perspective and some good sounding ideas. Everyone likes him. He's really popular.
We all hope he's going to win. Because America is not at its best right now. Most people used to really like America, but now think the current president has presided over torture and extraordinary imperial ambition, executed with a deft combination of arrogance and incompetence, and that America is just a quite scary place that does scary things to people for ideology.
Did anyone mention that ... not sure ... ?

Yea the US is always multilateral when the world wanted bilateral, we don't give enough until it's economic imperialism and then it's too much, we should "do something" to stop genocide but then we're too militaristic and then we shouldn't prop' up dictators but then also meet with them to work out agreements.
If the world truly knew how it wanted the US to act that would be amazing.

Yes but to get back on topic.
God usually picks the successful candidate, just as he does for baseball, basketball and football teams in the USA.
How is he showing his wrath as a sign for the voters?
Will prayer affect the outcome? And how much prayer will be needed to swing God's vote if he really is undecided?
Or is he so disgusted with US politics right now that he won't even bother voting and just go to the mall instead?

Well... just don't elect John McCain. There's a start. I think we're pretty sure about that.
We were right about the last guy, OK? So... just don't elect John McCain. Please.

You bet your ass America is being punished by God. And it sure as shit aint because of this election. One might want to go back a few years to March, 2003 to find a more worthy reason.

Just as "the world" seems to be selective in what it wants of the USA, The USA seems to be selective in "the world" it listens to.
In the case of this administration, it is "the world" that does as it is told and doesn't disagree no matter how absurd the policy.
