5 best cds - beginning to end
entire cds w/ quality--none of that 1 or 2 hit wonder bs--thats what file sharings for...
but entire cds?
in no particular order:
1. Vertical Horizon - Everything You Want (these guys have been awesome since they started, but this work uses more electric guitar and is simply incredible)
2. Better than Ezra - Friction, Baby (most mature album from them--longest stay in my car cd changer of any cd i own)
3. Toad the Wet Sprocket - Fear (best of many great albums from them--so much meaning in the lyrics)
4. Jars of Clay - Jars of Clay (talk about putting life in their music...a beautiful creation)
5. Train - Train (great band from the bay area--great feel to every song...their follow up cd is almost as good...which is saying alot)
there are more, but thats what i can think up right now...

Though, that goes for their studio albums. I haven't heard Hasta La Vista, Baby yet.
Other than that.....
New Order - "Get Ready" wonderful, wonderful CD. Best one to come out in the past 6 months. One of the rare CDs by a band that I like that actually surprised me with its quality.
Brian Eno - "Another Green World" .....the ultimate chill out album. Very organic, unlike many of today's ambient releases.
Brian Eno - "Music For Airports" ......consider it the minimalist "Another Green World". Excellent study music.
Brian Eno "Discreet Music" .....the title track (which takes up almost the entire CD) is the single most beautiful song ever written

The Ramones - The Ramones - The First Punk Album
De la soul - Three Feet High And Rising - I still remember the first time i heard it. changed the way of how a hip - hop record was made and show what a genuis Prince Paul is.
These are in no order it would be to hard to place them that way they are just too great. And there are so many more, but these are the ones that changed my life and are the ones that i have the best memories with.
And i would like to add one more :
Nirvana- Never Mind - Changed the way the my generation thought about music and opened the door for underground artist. i never really got into this album that much but it has been ten yrs. since it came out and i think it needs to be mentiond for what it did. i think there where some good songs on it. But the impact of the album cannot be denied.
And also just wanted to give a mention to The Strokes giving rock music a much needed kick in the ass just like the Ramones did in the 70's
