iPhone screen unresponsive after 3.1

Hey all, I haven't posted on the forums here with a tech question like this, so if it's misplaced I apologize in advance.

Since the 3.1 update, which is otherwise awesome, I've been having an issue where the screen goes to sleep and becomes unresponsive. I have to reboot it to get it back on; home button, power button do nothing. It's happened 3 days in a row now, once a day, usually at night. I've searched for this issue, but other issues are similar and I'm not seeing it. Anybody else having this or know how to fix it? The only other thing I've changed recently is a griffen iClarifi case, and I doubt that's the culprit.

No way it's the case that is the problem. i would say download 3.0 before trying again. A lot of people have been reporting problems since downloading 3.1.

    Here are some reads.

Thanks, it looks like Macrumors is the place to go for stuff like this. I'm glad to see I'm not alone with my issue.

It never ceases to amaze me how all these groups of people with presumably identical hardware and software can have these different types issues. On the one hand I wonder how Microsoft supports it all on Windows (sort of), and on the other I wonder how Apple apparently doesn't when they have so many fewer devices and software options that they carefully manage. Then again the iPhone is pretty amazing when you think about it, and way out ahead of everyone else... so these things will happen.
