Dock effect: Does genie use more resouces?

I recently bought a niew Imac, 4GB RAM.



I just noticed the genie effect for minimizing windows. I really like it but I was just thinking does it use ore resources compared to the scale effect?

I use photoshop quite a bit so don't want to use up free memory if I can help it.

    Well sure it does... it takes a little CPU/GPU usage to come up with that effect!



    But since those resources are only in use for 1 second or so during the window change, I'm not sure it would really affect you much. What you might notice is that the effect is less smooth when you've got a big photo or video encode going on at the same time.
