If Apple was only doing a little MHz bump (as the rumors seem to indicate), I don't think they'd do it at an "event". I think they'd just quietly update the products and maybe issue a low-key press release.
Perhaps we're getting more than a little speed bump?

Or perhaps they're really just doing a little speed bump and there won't be an event at all and they'll just updated the PowerMacs tomorrow without any huge announcement.
There isn't an "event" like the launch of the new iBooks or iPod, because (unless they're keeping very quiet) the press haven't been invited to any "event".
So if something is happening tomorrow, it'll be a minor update and a press release.
It was down a couple days ago, and like I mentioned in another thread, that could mean something new is coming. Remember they took it down a few days before MWSF, probably to update it for the iPhoto ordering features.
Apple is going to demo PowerMac G4 and G4 server on February 12 in Zürich, Switzerland.
I think that is another indication, that the Macs coming out tomorrow (if they come out) will still be G4.
I don't like it either, but evidence is growing strong.

Not to discredit the sanity of this post, but if Apple had previously scheduled an event, they certainly aren't going to spoil the announcement of new systems by posting it on the event's page.

There's nothing to spoil. We know we are getting G4's tomorrow. Apple says they are demoing G4s on Feb 12th. Unless the article says they are demoing G4 1.2ghz dual etc, then they aren't spoiling anything.
[salt grain] A supposed Apple employee posted at MacCentral that they were to get a special important email between 8:30 - 8:45 am EST tomorrow (22Jan2002).[/salt grain]
I'm sure that Apple would work by PST and I doubt they want to release an "important" product at 5:30 am.

why not? it's not like its being released with a ton of fanfare
as for that seminar thing. it means shit. what are they supposed to do, say they will be demonstrating G5s if the G5s were scheduled to come out?
[quote] I still think they are coming out with G5s based on his comments

Well, I still think they're coming out with G5s too. Obviously. I just don't know when. Are you saying you think they're coming tomorrow?

Tomorrow.

This is what all rumor sites point to.
Since today's a holiday I don't think there'd be one today.

Maybe tomorrow... maybe Wednesday... maybe Thursday... maybe Friday... (maybe never)

Whatever happened to your source that guessed G5's at MWSF?

what about him? he still thinks G5s are coming but he hasn't heard from apple since november/december so perhaps things have chnaged since then
I still think they are coming out with G5s based on his comments
Don't you think if Apple was going to play with pricing / speeds, they'd want to update before the first Apple Store opens for the day?
You guys are still two or three days early... go back to bed.
