External Hard Drive work across versions of OS X?

So, this is probably a silly question, but I want to be sure. I am on a Powerbook G4 running OS X 10.4.11. I am planning on purchasing a new Macbook Pro once the next update happens (whenever it does happen). Will the Western Digital My Book that I have right now work with Snow Leopard? What I mean is when I plug the hard drive into the new computer, will it see all the files and be able to read and write to the hard drive or will there be cross-OS issues? Thank you and I am sorry for being a dunce

    No.

The stupidest question is the one you don't ask.

Just wait a bit for Snow leopard becomes stable enough. Then you're no more in clumsy PC world, everything will work.
