Milosevic war crimes case faces collapse
From <a href="http://news.independent.co.uk/world/europe/story.jsp?dir=73&story=116523&host=3&printable=1" target="_blank">this article</a>:
[quote] The trial of Slobodan Milosevic for war crimes in Kosovo is on the verge of collapse because former aides have refused to testify against him.
The case hinges on evidence collected by Western intelligence officers rather than the UN's own investigators, and some of the 90 witnesses who provided testimony against the former Yugoslav president have died.
Three weeks before it is due to open, Europe's most important war crimes trial since Nuremberg is reported to be in such disarray that prosecutors travelled to Belgrade earlier this week to try to shore up the case. But despite visiting several of Mr Milosevic's allies in their jail cells and homes, the team led by the British barrister Geoffrey Nice came away empty-handed, according to sources in Belgrade.

Look at the present abortion situation in the US. Currently abortions are legal but what would happen if during the next election a government was elected that passed laws decreeing that all past and future abortions are illegal? Every doctor, nurse and person that was involed in performing an abortion would be arrested and tried, probbally for "crimes against humanity".
Well that's my .5 cents worth... <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

Well that can't happen. You can't be tried for something that was legal when you did it. Also abortion was found to be a constitutional right so there can't be a law against it.
Anyway back on topic.
I had a feeling this case would be hard when I saw old footage of a Milosevic supporter on The Factor saying that all these war crimes were done by individuals and that Milosevic didn't order them and knew nothing about them.
I also think this 100% vindicates US when We refused to accept Bin Laden being handed over to any third party.
