Comcast cable modem

I hope this hasn't already been asked and answered. Search didn't find anything on the subject.



Comcast is about to charge $5.00 a month (up from $3.00), and I would like to buy a modem instead of continuing to rent one.



I understand that not all modems are compatible with Comcast. Do you guys have any recommendations? What about cost? What should I expect to spend for a 'decent' cable modem?

    Pay the $5.00 or call them ask ask for a customer retention plan. Threaten to leave (a few times, if needed) and see what your new bill is.
