This article from The Street claims Apple will be using a PA Semi designed processor and not an Atom for the tablet. Now we know why Apple bought PA Semi.

    One thing I expect Apple will want in a tablet is mondo battery life. For 12+ hours the only way to go right now is ARM, and since it doesn't have to run Windows, that won't be a problem.

    90% of probability is on there'll be no Atom in any case.
