keyboard mouse and dvd not working right

So it is a macbook pro 4.1 model running leopard 10.5.8

the keyboard and trackpad dont always want to work.. have been using a bluetooth mouse with no problems though.. the dvd drive doesnt want to accept a disk, when you put a disk in it keeps trying to read but stops and then wont eject.

it seems that if the computer is on for more then a hour the keyboard and mouse stop working.. sometimes after restarting the keyboard and mouse work again, but sometimes it doesnt lol.

was wondering if reformatting would help.. if so can i reformat by using the dvd drive off a imac sharing the drive to format the macbook pro??

Unfortunately, these sound like hardware problems. I suspect there's something wrong with either your trackpad or your keyboard, and the one is interfering with the other, giving both of them problems.

And the Superdrive behaves exactly like yours does in a dusty environment, especially after it hasn't been used in a while. You can either try using a head cleaning disc, several times, and keep putting it in if at first it won't play... or if that fails, you need to open up your computer and gently clean the laser lens with a q-tip dipped in lens cleaning solution.

You know this sounds like it could be a heat related problem. If the MacBook has been in a dusty environment the circuit boards could be covered in dust also. When you open up the computer look around and clean out any dust you find. Just be careful about ESD.
