Hi,

I'm new to this forum & looking to see if anyone can help.

I have a Mac Mini that does'nt work - power gets to board but that is about it.

I have noticed though that switch (sw500) is damaged - does anyone know what this switch does?

Would like to know beore I start to fit a new one!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Cammy

OK - discovered it is the SMC reset switch! Replaced & now get power but no chime! Board is reading disks but no going any further. Where is the SMC chip?

I must add that initially this machine did run but fans were very fast & tehn it shut down & now nothing!

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Cheers
