If Macintosh can do it, so can I!

Beware, it's 18 mb and about 3 minutes long.

It's subtle humor but the end is pretty funny.

and a cookie for anyone who recognizes the music

[edit:

edited size as per CosmoNut's suggestion.

It's now 11mb.]

It was cute, and funny to a point.

    Some other comments:
    • It was too big to download. I have a 56k connection, and it took a good 45 min. for the whole video. Try lowering your colors to only millions instead of millions+, and dropping the resolution down a bit more. It's not complex enough of a subject to be the resolution it is.

    • Try mixing some stuff up in something like this next time. Have the music change partway through. Get different angles. Stop tape, zoom in, and cut to a closer shot. If you can do different effects, try a slow mo, black and white, etc. (placed appropriately with the music and such.)

    • Though the magic of video made it seem like the dog chewed on that thing forever, stick in a brief graphic of the time. If we see that she sat there a good half-hour chewing on ONE sock, that's even funnier. You did partly accomplish this with the fades in and out of black, but a graphic would've been even more effective.

Overall, pretty funny. A good, universal subject. Not bad.

    Thanks for the suggestion Cosmo.

I did get it smaller (see edit in first post).

I was gonna put a clock in there but I figured that the fades would do the job. Maybe I'll go back and try it with the clock.

I would love to do different angles but since I'm only one man with one video camera it's a little difficult Plus, this video was just a spur of the moment capture. She was eating her sock and I just decided to get close and start taping. I didn't give it much thought at the time.

Well, back to the cutting room

    No prob.

BTW, when I said different angles, that could just be you standing up and moving around to the side of her (if it wasn't too distracting) and shooting from higher up. In the editing, no one would really know the difference, and it would make the video (esp. at 3min.) just a little more interesting and diverse.

Obviously you can't re-shoot it now, but that's just something to keep in mind for the future.

Humm, Kaboom give you the choice between two cookies :

    - his dog cookie

    - or a virtual cookie

Have you got any preference ?

Perhaps you should take the dog cookie and give it to this huge catfish you have presented to us ! : the result may be interesting

PS for Kaboom : you should give the cookie to Groverat : i want to see the catfish eat the cookie <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

Oh, what the hell. If Macintosh can do it, and Kaboom can do it. I can do it too!

My GF's cousin was in town last week for spring break, so I took my camera around and shot some footage so he could make an iMovie.

He had to go back to Texas before he could finish it, so the first minute and a half he did and I sort of filled in the rest.

    <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/claytonnyc/iMovieTheater1.html"; target="_blank">http://homepage.mac.com/claytonnyc/iMovieTheater1.html</a>;

    17.4MB 5m30s.

He never used iMovie before, but loved it.

note: didn't feel this iMovie deserved it's own thread so I'm intruding on kaboom's. CUTE beagle BTW.
