iPad camera connector and Ethernet cable?

Is it possible to connect an ethernet-to-USB cord to the iPad camera connecter USB port to receive wired Internet on the iPad?

    I'm not in a position to test this right now, but I doubt very seriously if this would work if only because the iPad's network interface is based entirely on wireless.

    Maybe on a jailbroken iPad. Even if the hardware worked, the OS wouldn't recognize the connection.
