So what does the new iPhone give us that isn't out already?

Everyone knows that whenever Apple comes out with something some fat -uck is just waiting to spew their vile villainy and scumminess.

That isn't the problem and there really shouldn't even be a debate about it. Even if they match the phone at some particular spec, Apple is doing that spec better in terms of trade offs. So for example no phone will be as fast with as good of battery life as the new iPhone.
The problem becomes the fact that Apple competitors are going to be dropping some new improvements and hotness associated with them every couple months and this is (likely) all Apple is going to give us for a year. The iPhone 3GS had easily been beat for several months, but we all noted it was okay because it was dated and the next iPhone was going to kill it. That worked great for 4 months.
It's going to suck if it has to work for say... 8 months this time.
