Quad Core Mac Book Pro's????

Anybody hear anything about i7 quad-core powered Mac Book Pros?

    Nothing in the pipeline that meets Apple's power consumption needs. 45w is at low as it goes and Apple's notebooks aren't getting any thicker or noisier.

    They aren't that much faster than the dual cores either because their clock speed is lower. Just now, it isn't worth using quads in a laptop. Next year with 22nm chips, it might be. AMD Fusion has 4 core options in a 55W TDP - not sure if that includes the GPU part but it should be fine for a MBP.

    Until Intel ship the 22nm Ivy Bridge processors, it would be a disaster to put a quad-core processor into a MacBook Pro. Wait about a year and a half.
