URGENT! Free Speedy Gonzales Now!

Today is the last day for petitioning Cartoon Network to air Speedy Gonzales cartoons in the United States. Cartoon Network DOES air this cartoon in Latin/Central America, but will not do so in the U.S. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" /> because they feel it may be an insult to the Latino community in the U.S. If it's OK to show it in Latin countries, why not here. Anyway, you can read more details about it and send an email to Ian Punnett who is heading up the petition to Cartoon Network. Spread the word and make the final push!

Good i hate Speedy Gonzales, i am a daffy duck fan

OMG!

I grew up with Speedy. I wondered why he wasn't on TV anymore. So let me get this straight. Certian counties in California REQUIRE you to be bilingual yet the stations are afraid to air Speedy and his "Aribba Arriba Andele Andele"(my first Espanol words I might add).



Guess they fail to look at Census reports that point to the fact that Latinos are the fastest growing Minorities! What a bunch of foolios.

You know,they (cartoon Network) are afraid of offending the Latino community by showing this classic cartoon because they feel it may use Latino steriotypes. I always thought that was a two-way street with Sylvester playing the steriotypical "english-speeking American" character that never catches him, gets blown up and Speedy always won and got the girl. I guess theres something in our water that makes American citizens unable to separate cartoons from real life, but its OK for Cartoon Network to "brainwash" our friends south-of-the-border by showing it. I just don't get the hypocrisy. FREE SPEEDY G already!
